downward spiral

I came across the following gem in the June 5th issue of the New Yorker in a lengthy article on the life of Oriana Fallaci where she’s quoted as writing the following :

“I used to be truly fond of Federico Fellini. Since our tragic encounter, I’m a lot less fond. To be exact, I’m no longer fond of him. That is, I don’t like him at all.”

I love it. I think it’s worthy of one of those online generator thingys where you can fill in the blank, select singular or plural and even gender (or lack thereof).
