Fuck

The 4th of July 2009 will long be remembered as the day our car was totaled. She ended up perpendicular from whence she was parallel parked when an SUV swerved to avoid a(n alleged) cat. The driver lost control of his vehicle, plowed into our car, the SAAB in front of us, eventually coming to a stop on the sidewalk further down the street. Luckily, despite the damage to all three cars, no one was hurt. I’m thanking the universe that the neighbour kids weren’t out on the sidewalk as they spend quite a bit of time drawing with chalk. Canon SD870 IS.

Oh man! That really sucks. I hope the SUV person had insurance. Glad no one was hurt.

Something even stupider but similar happened to our last car in Montreal (while it was parked and I was working, no less):http://www.flickr.com/photos/vieuxbandit/2615572413/

Frankly? I’m still pissed as hell.

Wow! I am glad you guys are ok, and that the pups were not in the car, and that the alleged cat was avoided, and that the kids were not on the sidewalk. What a lot of good going on in something so poopie.

Well, my next thought is: what color will you get this time?

this just happened to me 2 months ago! but i was driving in my car at 60mph when a range rover drastically swerved to avoid a child-size suitcase in her lane. two totaled cars, one totaled motorcycle, with the motorcyclist hospitalized. suitcase was untouched. and the range rover driver was uninsured. people, people, people . . . what the hell . . . . I wrote a letter to the editor in our local paper urging drivers to stop and think about the dangers of swerving . . . one dead cat, or one mangles suitcase, is a much better way to go.

Deeply glad that no one was hurt in this incident. To bad for the Mini Cooper. By my house we have a street that everyone loves to race down. My neighbor had is truck totaled by a driver that was coming way to fast out of our alley and didn’t see his bright red truck parked. Some people just don’t get that accidents can happen to just about anyone especially when you are being careless.
