About

heather

Heather is very much enamoured with personal publishing on the web, having launched her first home page in ’94 while working at Princeton University. She cofounded JPG Magazine with her husband, Derek Powazek and curated the Mirror Project from 1999 – 2006 (Heather and Aaron hope to bring it back online in some form or another in the not too distant future).

An award winning web designer for more than 11 years, Heather abandoned her career as a pixel pusher to join the Flickr team at Yahoo! as Community Manager in May 2005. 1796 days later, she decided to take some time off. After that, Heather will once again be working with Derek on Fertile Medium.

A life-long camera junkie, she never leaves home without a camera, hoping to capture the small moments that catch her eye. Photographs on hchamp.com and her photostream on Flickr are taken with a Polaroid SX-70, a Rolleiflex 2.8 F, a Canon Elan 7NE, a Canon SD960 IS, and an iphone.

Previous cameras include a Canon EOS 300D (at times with Lensbaby, Zoneplate or a Canon 24mm f/2.8 lens), a Canon SD870 IS, Leica M6, Canon Canonet GIII QL17, Zero Image 4 x 5 Pinhole w/ Polaroid back, SnapDragon 4 x 5 Pinhole w/ Polaroid back, Lomo LC-A, Holga, Minolta DiMAGE X20, Treo 650 and Treo 680.

Steal her shit and your pecker will fall off.
